Hi JC. I don't support Michelle's decision to get involved with their marriage counselor. And I don't think a man being "irritatingly positive" is a reason to get divorced. In fact, I don't defend Michelle anywhere in the piece. Rather, I call out the writers for giving her and Henry less human reality than Trent Crimm, or any number of other peripheral characters.

I also don't think anyone would defend a mom leaving her son thousands of miles away to coach a sport she knows nothing about, and then choosing to stay separated even after she knows that means her child will remain thousands of miles away with her divorced ex.
