I will agree with you 100% about Yura Borisov. This movie started to get interesting once he showed up, and I hope he gets an Oscar nom.

Obviously, I don't agree that this is a superb film. I know Baker wants to destigmatize sex work, but I'm not sure you can convince society to stop objectifying women in that industry whilst filming them at work being actively objectified. It doesn't work. Which is precisely why his approach with 'The Florida Project' was successful. He let us see a young woman in the afternoon with her daughter, at the pool with a friend, fighting with the motel manager, etc. Ani, on the other hand, exists solely in her relation to men, specifically to Ivan, but later to his family's Russian goon squad. Igor is interesting because he sees something even Baker doesn't give us -- a whole person.

Anyway, Simon, I always welcome disagreement and value your thoughtful opinions. Am I missing something else?
