The thing about Roy that never made sense in the American Office is that he's sweet and kind of lovable, and so why he wouldn't lock it down with Pam? The question remains unanswered. (Like, many a husband doesnt' "get" his wife's art, but who cares?)

In the OG British Office, the Pam character's boyfriend is a motorcycle-riding jerk, and you are made fully aware that he's not the type to marry this young woman, full stop. This dynamic was not well translated when bringing the sitcom across the pond (though, in general, I'd say the U.S. version has stood the test of time better than the British one...)
