There is certainly a much larger conversation to be had around the nature and validity — or not — of sex work itself. But for the purpose of analyzing Baker's work, I'm looking for whether or not the characters succeed as characters, do they work in the film itself? In the case of 'Anora,' both leads seem like caricatures. There is an un-realism about them, and some of that certainly corresponds to Ani being boxed into the stripper category almost exclusively.
